Bargain Buy in Slovenia? As you say PB shares take weeks to arrive. Also at this late stage you might not have the option. PBs I’ve taken part in in the past have all been oversubscribed, due to the discount, by later Friday evening. Personally I think AST Have far too many problems going forward to make them investable. Crooked Slovs, depleting Wells, no permits, no cash, no prospects. I cut my losses a long time ago, disillusioned with CH’s false promises. Remember when he was sitting by the phone waiting for the permits? He’s been there for well over a year now, he must have a sore arris! Good luck, TP

Bargain Buy in Slovenia? I’m totally torn with the PrimaryBid offer. I can either seriously reduce my substantial losses by picking some up at this discount price or throw good money at a very bad investment. One of my main issues is that the PrimaryBid shares don’t arrive quickly so any discount period is gone before they can be sold. Anyone else considering buying or bought?

Why investing in Slovenia is extremely high risk. I'd say DO NOT DO IT! The problems Ascent and it’s Slovenian partners have had in Slovenia explained:- For any wells to make money at the gas field they need to be hydraulically stimulated. This was done to the 2 existing wells back in around 2012. They now need to be stimulated again, and in time so will the other 7 or so existing wells that are shut down at present. This stimulation process is in fact NOT fracking as similar has been done in Slovenia since the 1950’s. The word fracking was coined in the USA when, in the 1990’'s they started using horizontal drilling combined with “industrial scale” hydraulic stimulation to get gas from gas trapped in SLATE (Ascent gas field is sandstone). Unfortunately a Slovenian extremist decided that Ascents hydrauluic stimulation might poison the water table and managed to get publicity including going on the tv. Then as far as I can tell, some people who work at their Environmental agency ARSO decided to take the law into their own hands (as hydraulic stimulation and even indeed fracking is NOT banned in Slovenia) by simply delaying (for ever??) any permits for Ascent and it’s Slovenian partners. Other then the stimulation permits we want a permit to build a gas processing plant. For that we need an IPPC permit. Ascent applied for it nearly 5 years ago. In 2016 it was issued only to be revoked illegally by a slovenian court after an NGO appeal. Even after the appeal was quashed guess what… ARSO STILL have not issued the IPPC permit. Basically we are waiting on the 2 permits for the 2 wells plus we are still waiting on the IPPC permit. Ascent are very, very likely to issue legal proceedings regarding the IPPC permit for very, very obvious reasons. The bottom line is, at least as far as I can make out, ARSO have and are deliberately witholding the IPPC permit even though it actuall has nothing to do with stimulation or fracking. I believe this is completely out of order and indeed illegal. The other problem is the relatively new Environment minister, Jure Leben seems to sympathise with the NGO’s and indeed has recently helped the delay by instigating an “internal review” of procedures last October which delayed the IPPV permit for another 3 months. The pretext he gave was to improve the permitting system believe it or not… All IMHO.

Bargain Buy in Slovenia? Wonder where all those interested parties have gone? Clearly they have been frightened off by those abusive people who claim to be shareholders (lol). Btw, who, but genuine shareholder should would be sufficiently interested in the permits as to write to the slovinian govt either abusively or not? The whole thing is a shambles. And, as for considering other opportunities in the O&G sector? What will our dearest Colin use for collateral??? TP

Bargain Buy in Slovenia? Small taste of euphoria yesterday soon worn off, eh? TP

Chris 04 Nov 2018

Bargain Buy in Slovenia? Pretty much an open threat TP. Let AST dilute or face losing everything. A couple of titbits to persuade the holders that there’s a chance of survival thrown in but the bottom line is, “let us have more money or there will (probably) be a firesale transaction at bargain basement prices”. The other option to “probably” is …what exactly? There is also intimation that one (seemingly) interested party is riding on the caveat of the IPCC being awarded. So, no surprises there then. There is also no direct reference as to exactly how much money is required and for what purpose precisely, although there is a passing reference to, “…not be able to pursue all avenues open to it to have the permits confirmed by the Slovenian authorities, including, if required, action through the courts.”, if it isn’t raised. There are people still buying into this stock so one assumes that they are gambling on the likelihood of a reversal in the shareholders views on November 20th. Big gamble that. Sort of Russian Roulette with 5 loaded chambers and one empty one IMHO. Limping along too generous I think TP. On hands and knees with begging bowl is how I see it. It’s all over bar the Fat Lady IMHO.

Bargain Buy in Slovenia? RNS today announcing GM to ask for authority to issue more shares! Who’s going to buy them I wonder? Perhaps EC will dig into his pockets? You couldn’t make it up. This story keeps limping along. TP
