Happy customer? Having spotted this as an investment dog and shorted the shares (something I do very infrequently) and made an absolute packet, I find myself in the odd position of becoming a customer, having just place a £500 order.It all seemed to work quite well but let's see what delivery and installation are like.Doesn't mean the shares are any more attractive but at least I've recycled some of the money back tot he company which gave me the profit in the first place!

shorts Article in the Times saying AO is one of the most shorted shares in Europe with institutions such as Schroeders, Artemis and Aviva taking some fairly large short positions.It still feels to me like a share which could crack still further.

About a year ago I said that AO World was "the most over-hyped, over valued large cap stock to have hit the London stock market for quite some time".At that time the company was saying it would make pre-tax profits of £13.6m in the year to 31 March 2015 and £24.1m in the current financial year. I said that was total BS. Deliberately misleading hype and pretty close to being fraudulent statements.So what has happened? Instead of £13.6m profits they actually reported a loss of £2.9m and the supposed profit of £24.1m for 2015/16 is now expected to be an even greater loss of almost £5m.So I have two questions
1) if a bozzo like me with little more than a spreadsheet a tiny bit of common sense could see the claims were bogus, the shares massively overvalued and that a price collapse was just waiting to happen, why couldn't everyone? and(2) how have they got away with it?p.s. the execs got special bonuses of £2.5m for floating the company. So they absolutely ripped off shareholders and foisted a dog onto the market AND they get extra money - a lot of extra money - for doing so. Like I said, how have they got away with it?

results More losses, tough environment, lots still to do etc etc. And a director quits. Shares down a further 7.5% (@9.am) 58% down on the price at which I shorted them and recommended others here do the same. Candy, baby etc.

Re: Director sell. This one gets funnier and funnier. Share price collapses and Director sells almost his entire holding (£10,000,000).They get a pasting in the press today. What a shambles!

Director sell. "The share sale by Richard Rose follows the expiry of the post-IPO lock-up and will help to further increase liquidity and the number of shares in public hands. Richard remains committed to the Company, both as a shareholder and as its Chairman."Owning 5.5 million shares was a committed shareholder and Chairman! He's sold them all bar 700k. Doesn't bode well for the sp if he's happy to bail out at 180. Not good. V poor show by Mr Rose.

Re: Re- orchard I'm far from angry - I've made a killing on this one. But I do think it is rather pathetic when a share has halved in value to pop up with a message when it shows a small one day rise.
