Comparisons are odious It is difficult to disagree with any of today's posters. The first, ever the optimist, is right in the sense that the POO is very much higher and the cash flow hugely better. What he didn't add is that the figures for May this and last year are as follows Production 4792/5163 last year, 4807/5344 this year; OBA 4266/5017 last year, 4134/5024 this year. Not worse this year, not better. The rainy season has started with a vengeance so it seems, and the BOD is not known for dressing up the figures, with ancillary profitability and cash flow data. Result, SP this morning a thumping decline to around 15.5p, last year at the same time 23p. The later posters are right too. Of course we are only as good as today's results and tomorrow's predictions. The former are disappointing, and the latter have some doubts raised....but as I say we are in the rainy season, and we are talking RAINY in Colombia, not just the spats we have had in the UK.On the positive side, the pumping station is if anything ahead of schedule, and some of the rig spudding is going well too.All in all, as we all know, there is little or no justification for the SP at 15.5p, but we are where we are. For the brave contrarian, 15.5p is a strong buy so that is where I am placing it at this point in time.

Re: 4800 good May. . Accredops,You must be on a different planet. There is nothing good about AMER's production nor the cash generation. Even with high PoO levels the company is struggling to turn on a profit. Instead, they are piling all the cash into workovers and news wells which in return are delivering zero. The bad weather season hasn't even properly arrived yet so don't get excited about the upcoming drill plan as it could be delayed further into Q4 when weather improves. This stock has to be the worst performing oil producing stock across the entire index. The plat licence is beginning to look like it has a limited shelf life. What's next?CPO-5 is the lifesaver and fortunately run by a competent team in ONGC.HUB

Bad figures April production figures were 173 815 against May of 149 030, as well as monthly production figures April 5794 against 4807 bopd. Expect fall in SP.

4800 good May. . Why oh why aren't they polishing the tur@??? They are guilty of being too honest imo.Yes we have had some issues but due to the current oil price we are well ahead of our business plan. Debt free, delivering considerable cash revenue. Equivalent cash revenue is more in line with 9000 good vrs our business plan. Achieving 75 vrs 40 per barrel....come on bod get with it....I am sure I could write the rns's for them!

Amerisur report A word of caution; GTE has had very little success with their prediction of the "N" sand prospects, and that is probably the reason why that play is no longer in the headlines and has been replaced with the "A Limestone" play. "N" sand prospects are hard to predict based on the available old vintage 2D seismic data that exist across the basin, given the lateral discontinuity of that particular reservoir, among other issues.

Re: Bumbling along sound money,Of course they do! They made it up the road from Salisbury. In the UK there is no screening for nerve agents on travellers. In Russia even if you board a train your luggage and shoes are screened and there is an arch on all entrances to the Metro. In the UK I enter buildings using a chemical resistant glove and never ever touch external door handles!Good luck

Re: Interactive Investor Well, last week we got bounced out of the MSCI (and is why the UT volume was sky high for Thursday), but the decision each of us has to make for ourselves is whether or not AMER is going to be the recovery stock of 2018.All it takes, at this POO, is drill bit success and the arrival of the herd, attracted by the upwards trend and mostly wholly unaware of the fundamentals. So, if you have no good opinion of JW's ability, it becomes a simple probability exercise with 14 shots at the dart board in 2018 and with the first 3 up being P50.On the chance of success, it was an interesting interview with the boss of Gran Tierra, who pulled back from more exotic countries to focus on Colombia, his reasoning being that he is looking for repeatabilty, to steadily grow the company, as opposed to the roulette wheel of feast and famine in higher risk areas.

Interactive Investor This is what Interactive Investor, in his post about AIM, has tp say about Amerisur;--''''Only 66 were quoted five years ago and the share prices of 62 of them have risen. The two worst performers were oil companies Amerisur Resources (AMER) and San Leon Energy (SLE).

Re: Too little attention... I wonder how impressed Giles was with Stephen's performance at the AGM? Thanks for posting the link. Reading that link (and Henry Clarke's bio details in particular) reminded me of Michinoko. Does that give us any further clues as to who (or what family trusts or connections) might be behind this mysterious Virgin Islands company that seems to have such a strong correlation with the interests and activities of GC?
