RNS v Interview on Proactive Puzzle to me why RNS was so negative when Anthony Sethill was so bullish last week[link] is extract from article on Proactive website dated July 28th Chief executive Anthony Sethill explains.“SensiumVitals provides the first warning of the deterioration of a patient,” he says. “If you are in a general ward observations currently take place every four-to-six hours. We are reducing it to two minutes.”That’s quite a considerable improvement and will allow medical staff to intervene at a much earlier stage.A study conducted at one hospital in America showed that SensiumVitals picked up deterioration in 12% of patients. For these patients, the early warnings provided by SensiumVitals reduced their hospital stay by an average of four days. That works out financially at around US$9,000 per person. So, not only are the benefits to health very clear, but the financial savings are very considerable.Indeed, a loose extrapolation of the data reveals that the NHS could save as much as £500 million in ongoing costs if SensiumVitals was implemented, after the product had been paid for.But introducing a new product into the NHS is a long process, and although a number of leading clinicians already believe SensiumVitals to be of benefit, more trials are needed before the data can be regarded as conclusive. Those trials are ongoing now.“A number of trials are underway”, says Sethill. “Worldwide we have about 20 now.”Included in their number is research going on at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, and at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.Once these trials are complete the opportunity to address the market will be huge, although in the UK Sethill expects there will be a lot of legwork involved selling to individual trusts rather than closing one huge single deal.

Re: Half Yearly Results RNS What I don't understand, if all these hospital trials are externally funded, how come they are using up so much of their cash reserves? Very weak set of results. Another cash call will sink this company without trace.

Re: Half Yearly Results RNS "Much depends on the sales team I guess "That assumes that they have one!!

Re: Half Yearly Results RNS There maybe deals coming, and an NHS deal or two could be good.Much depends on the sales team I guess and licences which will be useful generally.

Re: Half Yearly Results RNS At what point do TMZ bite the bullet and find a buyer for the healthcare technology so they can concentrate on their profitable/successful audio division, slash the Sensium operating and investments costs from the trading figures?A placing now would be hugely dilutive to existing shareholders.

Half Yearly Results RNS Digital audio side growing strongly, healthcare division going nowhere (only £200k worth of sales H1) and burning cash at a rapid rate (£7m is 6months) . TMZ will have to raise cash again soon if cash burn continues as only £5.5m left in the bank.I'd expect sp to fall on disappointing progress (healthcare) and in anticipation of equity placing.

Re: Re. Sense A-S BP monitor [link] the product as a replacement technology by offering the capability to measure a full set of vital signs by adding ECG, SpO2 and blood pressure to the system’s existing capabilities."I don't think it would be possible to integrate the new technology into a patch that sits on the chest, but they might add them as separate sensors that attach to the wrist and talk to the SensiumVitals system.

Re: Re. Sense A-S BP monitor Mr Google"Would be interesting as to which technique TMZ use for blood pressure monitoring"There's the rub, I've never heard either Prof Toumaz or Sethill mention BP in relation to Sensium. It would be a major breakthrough to get BP monitoring onto an electronic patch. Anyone have any more info on this 'interesting' topic? They can probably integrate the readings into their monitoring/reporting system, but how do you measure it?

Re: Re. Sense A-S BP monitor Thanks @marcherWould be interesting as to which technique TMZ use for blood pressure monitoring.

Re: Latest interview with Sethill We know that there were delays to roll out by by some months initially because of the problems with technology and enhancements, and I am probably guessing that some hospitals have decided to wait until the results from QE and St James are known.Whether he mislead us on this, the jury is out there.

Re. Sense A-S BP monitor Contipress registered for clinical trials in May 2013 but withdrew in Sep that year.I can only assume that the technique was flawed or maybe they were swallowed up by a competitor?[link]

quick assessment of TMZ Likeable man, reminds me of a young Anthony HopkinsSeemed to stumble when asked @ the end about how he would address shareholder value. And therein lies my concern.1 year ahead became 2 years ahead for sensium. Trial after trial has not moved into world orders. If sensium is proved important in any one hospital eg the USA trial, it is logical it would be taken up without further trials elsewhere as scientists would punce on a breakthrough eg CRISPR 9.I dont buy that the NHS has desperate antonymous Trusts making decisions unrelated to the rest of the world (my words & slant). A simple clipboard from one hospital who had tried then taken up sensium would suffice for many of them - surely? What do I know.I dont know that Toumaz has the business skill to push in a ruthlessly pond life business world where industrial espionage has now passed national intelligence gathering.their chairman is non-exec...not massively uncommon in a fledgeling company, and holds so many positions elsewhere there wouldn't be enough space to list them on this board, but for how long will TMZ be fledgeling in a tech market that moves at Moore's Law?the share price influences me, although Sethill said soon after taking over that TMZ wouldn't be storming until 2023 to which year he had tied staff reward schemes (u'd better check that date I'm writing this from memory) My analysis is superficial DYOR
