Re: Aviva results could bring buyback bo... You may well find AV do all three ie buybacks, raise div and a special one over time but let it pay down debt first.atb

Re: Aviva results could bring buyback bo... Don't disagree with your points, but in defense of buybacks they make the ordinary dividend more affordable to maintain/increase. As this is a long term hold for me, I'm happy with a nice stable SP and chunky dividend to reinvest.

Re: Aviva results could bring buyback boost Hope I am wrong ,but for me buybacks just seem to go unnoticed as reflected in the sp.If you have excess cash then boost the div or give us a special one..........It did Halfords no harm.

Aviva results could bring buyback boost Aviva results could bring buyback boostDeutsche Bank is sticking with a ‘buy’ rating on Aviva (AV) ahead of results next month that could yield news on share buybacks.‘A potential extra positive catalyst with the results is the possibility that management will announce the start of a buyback,’ said analyst Oliver Steel.Aviva has already pledged to return or use £2 billion of excess cash, including ‘at least £500 million towards buy-backs of both ordinary and preference shares.‘Excess cash should already be sufficient by end 2017 for this process to begin, given that the group arguably needs no more than £1.5 billion at the centre in normal circumstances,’ he said.Aviva shares fell 3.3% to 489.1p yesterday.[link]

Great 2 hr session on CNBC with Mark Wilson I listened to boss of Aviva for 2hrs on CNBC this morning and he made so much sense on a number of fronts. I like his comment of them using big data to already have most of the info and answers to any questions to base a quote or premiums and can reduce staff costs and it makes it cheaper to them by as much as 30%. On my watch list because of their increasing yield of 4.4%[link]

Re: Key chart point When Aviva is on the rise it usually starts around February. So its good to see it going up this early on.If we have the same continued rise as seen a few years back £6.50 is deffo not out of the question.........fair value is more like £7.50 and then 1 day onto my £9.20 prediction.

3 billion excess cash to be deployed 3 billion excess cash to be deployed in 2018 /2019That's what Mark Wilson said today on CNBC.He went on to say he was looking at investing more in asia and possibly China.I would imagination this will be finding its way back to shareholders via more rises in the divs (heres hoping there will be a special one,not like Mourhino). As for buybacks.well Aviva has not gone anywhere in the last 4 years so I would knock those on the head and return the cash to shareholders. 08/03/2018 prelims

going up? Will we travel and then not arrive that is the question for 2018 concerning Aviva.Up over 6% in a week and prelims aren't until March the 8th,so plenty of time for a continued rise or market crash.Be very happy if we get near £5.50 and then explode up over £6 on the prelims.for now things are deffo going in the right direction........................
