Thanks. I agree with long term being a good bet, decision is to get in now or later in order to get best sp to start off with.

Thinking of investing in BOI shares, long term 5 to 10 years. SP seems high at the moment. Question is should I wait on to see if they'll come back a small bit before buying or is this current sp stable enough starting point?

Eamonn: I do not know anything about PTSB to be honest. They are in the same boat as AIB as far as I know.

Eamoon. I do not know really. I suppose Bank of Ireland is on a better footing, but maybe AIB has more room to improve if things work out for them. But it is hard to know really. I would split the four thousand and put two in each.

Eamonn. I think it is because they have over half a billion shares compared to bank of Ireland's thirty six million, so their share price would make them one of the best preforming banks in the world. Having said that, the Government have over 99 percent of the shares and it is expected that these shares will be sold somehow and the number of shares reduced without affecting the share price. That is the hope anyway.
