Slight surprise that no comments on price collapse here? Any thoughts on the run up to the 1/2 yr results in November? The SP has been struggling to break out of the 162p ceiling but appears to have done. I personally can’t think of any reason why this will go higher in the short term. Think of cutting my losses and taking a break and hopefully buy back in at a lower price.

Slight surprise that no comments on price collapse here? Hi JD, Thanks for explaining that. Well done on regaining your leveraged losses and for being decisive with VOD. ATB

Slight surprise that no comments on price collapse here? jalopen0: Hi JD, I’m in the same boat re VOD. It’s going well at the moment though. Prospects of it all coming good (fingers crossed). ATB Hi Jalopeno, Thanks. Please note, I exited VOD entirely a few months ago at net loss. Significantly so with leverage, but also with shares, too. That exit was planned soon after their dividend was cut. I also wasn’t impresses by their plans to sell-off key assets to reduce quite alarming debt, for eg. their masts sale. There’s another recent VOD thread (Buy 198.32) on here where I expand why I no longer have a stake here. Put the funds from VOD shares sale into LLOY. Thus I’m wholly out of VOD & I clarify elsewhere why I’ll not buy them again. FWIW, got all my leveraged losses from VOD & BARC back only most recently, as posted on BARC+. Quite heavy trading of UKX. Best of luck with VOD! - Regards.

Slight surprise that no comments on price collapse here? Hi JD, I’ve let things drift a bit but need to look at moving our accounts. I’ll have a look at the two you mention but I do need to sort something out. ATB

A Thomas Cook moment coming right soon Vodafone: Market Cap £48bn Debt £47bn. Growth negligible. Committed to a toxic 5G. Abusing the Code. Awful customer service. Arrogant appointee management. I wonder what could go wrong!!

Buy 198.32 (shares) VOD Is down 2%. Has there been negative news? Frog

Buy 198.32 (shares) Fiat, Good to know that others are faring well & I’m sure that said resistance against No-Deal is a factor. I’ve also seen some recent recovery in SBRY & CNA. My LLOY & BARC slightly up, but face the same challenges until either a Brexit Deal has more certainty, or we’ve a 2nd Vote & Remain. All those in real shares, so no pressure to sell before targets. I’ve also cut some leveraged stake in ITV yesterday without loss with Brexit concerns in mind & any negative effect on ad revenues. IQE is a problem as vulnerable to tariff wars, but I’ve not gone into it heavily. But mostly I trade UKX, now with significant short cover. In that respect, my only concern is that FSTE 100 still seems to be shrugging off significant political risks ahead for UK. For all his bluster, Johnson’s government looks increasingly shaky, even with a GE delayed until November. He may well resign well before then Come the GE, I anticipate another sharp sell-off across UKX, probably down to YTD lows. - I could of course be mistaken. - Regards.

Buy 198.32 (shares) My portfolio balance is doing quite well at the moment and has got back to where it was on 1 August. I think that this is remarkable due to the partial recovery in sterling over recent day. I reckon that the resistance against no deal has helped. Cheers, Frog in a tree

Buy 198.32 (shares) frog_in_a_tree: I took a look at the VOD chart and see that the sp continues its recovery, albeit slowly. I also see that from your sale of VOD and purchase of LLOY that you would have made a small loss and would have been best sitting on your hands…but no great disaster. Its all guesswork. For my part I have held both LLOY and VOD in the expectation of recovery which in both cases I expect…eventually. I know that I could have increased my portfolio balance with a bit of judicious buying and selling but as I have a more than sufficient income I am content to be patient and let the divis flow. Hi Fiat, Indeed, but no regrets. I needed nearly 188 just to break-even on my VOD shares. Not including divis, which I regard as mere bonuses to any profit targets. After VOD slashed their dividends &, not least, in view of selling key assets to pay off horrendous debt & falling revenues, my mind was 100% certain. Anything above 150, I’d sell to put just those proceeds into adding more LLOY’s. Some of the latter to be held for L/T targets of 73+. Glad for holders but very content to be out of VOD & I’d never re-enter again. Every so often these companies need to spend tens of billions just to upgrade technology. With competition rising, risk of more sharp reversals in future won’t go away. - Regards.

Buy 198.32 (shares) VOD @162.5p. Too good a recovery to be a DCB. Year High and next gap to close is 171p going back to September 2018. Impressive rise - way more than I expected. I will continue to run with it. Deutsche Bank recently revised it’s target up to 250p. Keep calm - we have momentum.
