NEW ARTICLE: Share of the week: Huge reward for meeting forecasts "It's not often that a trading update stating simply that a company expects to meet expectations sparks a substantial share price rally. But that's exactly what happened this week, when LSE:UKM:UK Mail published its third-quarter results. The ..."[link]

Problems at ipostparcels My experiences suggest that the ipostparcels service appears to be technologically challenged at the moment as the text/email service they have introduced to let customers know when parcel pick-up occurs does not work. My pick up time (sent by text & email) was 8.30pm to 9pm and the driver arrived at 4.30pm and it was pure luck that I was nearby. The driver said this type of problem has been occurring "since the new scanners were introduced" and he advised me to ignore any information about pick-up times so this sounds like a systematic problem to me. Yesterday the ipostparcels site crashed in the afternoon just as I was booking a parcel collection and was down for over 3 hours. When the service resumed, my password no longer worked so I requested a new one which was not sent. The chat agent I contacted finally got a new password sent and said that they are having intermittent technical problems with the web site. Ipostparcels has been operating for years (I have been using it) and I would find it worrying as an investor that siginificant technical problems are occurring now.

Investec From ADVFN:"Investec has downgraded UK Mail Group to 'add' from 'buy' after the postal services company issued a profit warning.UK Mail said it expects its full-year will be materially below current market forecasts, with profit before tax now predicted to be in the range of £10m to £12m.The profit warning comes as the company has suffered hitches with its new fully automated facility in Coventry which is struggling to cope with many of the parcel sizes, which were said to be "incompatible" with its new automated sorting equipment."The rate of parcel volume growth has slowed with a negative parcel revenue mix and a greater proportion of parcels volume than expected is incompatible with the new sortation equipment resulting in higher costs and lower asset utilisation," Investec analysts noted. "Consequently, we cut our forecasts, reduce our Price target to 485p (from 535p) and downgrade to add."Investec has cut its parcels revenue and operating profit forecasts, "assuming a slightly lower revenue per parcel due to the negative mix and higher operating costs".The analysts' parcel volume forecast has been reduced from 5% to 3% for the full-year 2016. The parcels revenue projection has been slashed 2.1% in full-year 2016 and 2.1% in full-year 2017"

Telegraph- Questor "Buy shares of UK Mail, Questor recommended in the Sunday Telegraph. The delivery company has posted record parcel volumes over Christmas, helped by the collapse of rival City Link. The shares fell last year after Amazon launched its own delivery service but they could now be at a turning point. The company is on track to meet annual profit forecasts of £22.5m and the shares trade at 15 times forecast earnings. Questor upgraded its recommendation to buy."

Shambolic company Delivered my parcel later than informed. was out so missed it after waiting in.Didnt even attempt delivery next day as they are supposed too.drove to collection depot where 30+ other people, some who had been waiting 4 hours for them to find parcels.ended up getting 1 out of 2 parcels, didnt know where other was.No-one could get through on phone, informed one person picking up calls, what use is that?!Invest in this lot? I dont think so.

Re: NEW ARTICLE: The Insider: City deals... I'd be tempted to top slice at around 600 and maybe sell at 700 but am happy to collect the 5% yield for as long as it takes to get there. This is a boring non glamorous company but I see it as a play on the growth of online shopping and with Christmas next hopefully we'll see some more upside into the new year.

Re: NEW ARTICLE: The Insider: City deals unc... I decided that I would sell if they ever got back to £7 but got greedy and didn't. The rest is history and if they DO ever get back to £6 I think I'll sell, if I don't get greedy again.
