Election Fallout Don’t worry, it’s Tate… you will get another chance! Haven’t top sliced yet, aiming for 730. Just a top slice not out. 667 would be the buy back but I never buy on a down tick or sell on an up tick. Never optimum just old fashioned discipline. In the meantime I can live with a 4.1% dividend growing with RPI. Boring, dull but solid and relatively uncorrelated to everything else I have. On it’s own probably no. Part (small) of the bigger scheme? Solid, boring… always useful. Regards, ITDYA

Election Fallout Grrr. So annoyed that my Limit Buy never triggered at 664p. Then it shoots up to 715p today. I think I must have been within 0.1% of my Buy executing. Close, but no cigar.

Election Fallout LSE:TATE [link] Dull & boring but solid… which does have it’s attractions in limited quantity as part of a diversified portfolio for an older fool like me. Regards, ITDYA

Election Fallout TATE… XXXXX Took a slice yesterday ( D ) @ 803p recent high .

Election Fallout TATE… XXXXX ( W ) Bed & ISA… 722p

Final Results Up 2.6% today to 720p and 9p divvy tomorrow. We’ll see how much that affects the SP. Highest close since May 2017 and wouldn’t take too much to knock that gap out and hit 780p+. Good to see Liberum reiterates buy with a target price of 900p this month, but I never set too much esteem on Broker recs. Good solid defensive stock to have in these politically uncertain times. Anyway, things are going in the right direction … let’s hope it continues.

Final Results @Uncle_Doug, Thanks for the feedback… there are times when, since the new ii platform, I do wonder whether I out here on my own! I’m not over-keen on it, didn’t see too much wrong with the old one, but regardless of what anyone thinks of the new platform, one thing has changed for the worse - a massive drop off of people posting opinion/analysis. Not that I always agreed with them, far from it, but input, opinion… something to think about even if you later dismiss it. Very clever this new platform when you get used to it but without the volume of people and opinion, it’s a poor shade of what it used to be… I’m far more interested in substance than presentation. Regards, ITDYA, rant over… I will persevere, every/any set of results in which I have a decent(?) interest.

Final Results Good luck with your trade - seems a not bad idea to sell half @706 and leave half running. I’m close to selling but hanging on for a bit more as I liked the results and the presentation afterwards. Steady, solid progress and healthy growth in EM. Maybe get some broker upgrades. I feel that now TATE has closed the gap to a year ago that maybe things are set for boost over the next few months. Also I want the divvy in 2 wks time. Hope I’m not being too greedy!

Final Results LSE:TATE Just sold 50% of mine @ 706.4 In 5 years I’ve made a 20% gain, probably not much more than real inflation (I know, RPI and/or CPI haven’t risen that much but they ‘fiddle’ the statistics - 1st thing they do is drop old items that are stagnant and replace them with new ones whose prices are falling) with a 4%-4.5% divi in the meantime… nothing to get excited about but given interest rates have been near zero in the meantime it’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Going to let the other half run with a 650 stop. Regards, ITDYA

Final Results LSE:TATE [link] What a dull set of interim results. Nothing particularly positive but no banana skins. The market seemed to like it 1st thing this morning but now people have actually read them! Dull, dull, dull. Regards, ITDYA wishing I’d woken up earlier this morning so that I could have unloaded some at £7 as it’s hard to see how these results can justify even that.

Re: Final Results I've locked some in, thanks.BMY is going a storm. Thought it was very overlooked. The BMY board on ii is very quiet, so post on that usually elsewhere. The SLA board is deserted elsewhere,So far more useful here.

Re: Final Results Can't fault you - always happy to see people making money. I've been in and out of a few shares several times but didn't feel ready to jump back in here - with hindsight it would have been a great trade (that's all - I'd be selling now). Just a little food for thought - a suitably appropriate limit sell order (not guaranteed) would help lock in profits in the event of the proverbial hitting the fan...

Re: Final Results FRTEB, in terms of the longer term price, well there will be another bearmarket, it's not out of the question to be a pretty (historically) standard 30-35%bear market drop. So in that scenario 90% plus of stocks become considerably cheaper. So I can only judge risk/reward as something stands atm, even though my view may be longer term on a particular stock, it's also a relativeone. If as an example TATE was available at £5 and ULVR at £28, I would allthings being equal, Buy ULVR all day long. If ULVR ever sees £32 again I would be surprised!.

FT alphaville - the clue was in.. Cover TATE in today's markets live section.Having put my parents in at 546/8, pleased with the result, there average was nicely lower than mine. What the 'tell' was for me on TATE, was one particular RNS - When a person connected to the outgoing CEO bought shares. Why on earth would someone buy shares, if they don't even work for the Company, if risk/reward did not look favourable.Particularly as this was a 'defensive' long established MCX stock. That was a big tell for me.
