leajy leaky again,,sona news??? this would do me fine. take the sona deal leave the rest alone and use the money to pay down debt and move on we don't need anyone else. that money represents 85% of our market cap. a sona in the hand is worth a ophir in the bush

Ophir are still snapping up shares. Difficult to see why they would do that unless they were coming back in some form or another - might just be a lot more agressive than was previously planned. I'm holding.

Re: what next lgin the real world posturing, feigned indifference, sculduggery, wailing and screaming, lies, charm, greed and many other attributes are all mixed into the same pot when it comes to haggling over an item, this item just happens to be an oil and gas company...there are always many twists and turns...people don't come to terms over tea and cake in an orderly fashion...moneys being made along the way.best of luck

Re: sona paying £170mill markt cap... Don't think the company will want to sell at 120p. They have been with a low oil price before, when they bought Bualuang the oil price was about to crash and did before they went into production - first cargoes were at $40 a barrel. Why do they want to sell at a low price? Best wait a couple of years and plod on with the original plan of developing the Indonesia gas and drilling out the GoT exploration wells. Maybe an offer over 180p would interest them.Think Ophir are still in as are an Abu Dhabi group reported in the Sunday Times. Anybody else? PTTEP? ONGC? Premier?

Re: sona paying £170mill markt cap... Does anyone have a balanced view here? We have cash coming in for the Bula fields? What are the rest of the assets actually worth and do we know who the large institutional shareholder are that are left in because they will decide the fate of SMDR? I think 120p seems realistic but disappointing for long term holders. Any sensible views out there?!!?

Re: sona paying £170mill markt cap &po... Forgot something - falling oil price !!!

HamptonCaught 18 Nov 2014

Well what an anti-climax that was. Congratulations to anyone that had the foresight to sell last Friday.

one4all 18 Nov 2014

sona paying £170mill markt cap £233mill so all the rest of SMDRs assets are only worth £60mill reflected in share price ?? don't think so . how much is the other 60% of Bula' worth then if 40% is worth £170mill.DO the math.... then take off the debt. still clearance of £200millBUY

one4all 18 Nov 2014

bought more, its dirt cheap will be taken out will move back above 110p just have patience

Noddy 18 Nov 2014

I don't trust the BOD after this so I'm out with a modest loss. Unless OPHR cough up sharpish I see this heading back to recent lows and further given the significant drop in the oil price over the period. GLA
