Re: 11.75p! i couldn't be arsed selling, so will wait for the cash to turn up in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I should really think about what to do with said cash.

Pretty much complete now Well, we're just waiting for the fat lady to sing now before it disappears into Chinese hands, which given the undoubted expertise within the company, is a shame, but I suppose it's a classic example of a company overstretching itself and getting it wrong.I've done all right out of Sepura over the last five years or so, but would have done a damned sight better if I'd taken profits as the sp approached two quid as opposed to selling on a profit warning, such is life though. Lessons learnt and all that and at least there was money to be made over the last few weeks

Re: 11.75p! From[link] Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Greg Clark, today (12 May 2017) announced that he has accepted statutory undertakings from the parties involved in the proposed acquisition of Sepura plc by Hytera Communications Corporation Limited and that the acquisition will not therefore be referred to the Competition and Markets Authority for a further assessment. The decision follows a public consultation on the content of the draft undertakings. Having carefully considered the representations received, the Secretary of State believes the undertakings will provide assurance that sensitive information and technology are protected and ensure the continued supply of a repair service for secure communications devices used by the emergency services."So that's the UK formally sorted.Fingers crossed on the banks being happy to extend the covenant waiver and then we only ( famous last words ! ) need to get the Germans to say they're happy.

Re: 11.75p! Another day, another update. This time good news for Sepura shareholders. The UK won't refer the bid to the CMA if Hytera and Sepura give statutory undertakings. This is excellent news and should see the shares back at 16p plus.

Re: 11.75p! Looks like it's got the green light from the UK"The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has announced that, subject to the outcome of a period of public consultation which closes at 5.00 p.m. on Wednesday 10 May 2017, he is proposing to accept statutory undertakings set out by the parties involved in the Acquisition. This acceptance of the statutory undertakings would avoid the need to make a reference to the Competition and Markets Authority for a more detailed investigation into the Acquisition."

Re: 11.75p! The problem for Sepura is that it knows there are security advisers briefing against the bid going through on national interest and security grounds but it cannot do much to stop it happening. I've never known a situation like this where shareholders want the bid to go through and unseen forces are trying to stop it.Even at 10p that is suggesting even money on the bid crossing the finishing line. I personally think it will end up getting blocked but if the company can give assurances on its operational independence from the Chinese, it might be allowed.

Re: 11.75p! Rollercoaster .After Spain saying ok last week now Germany reviewing acquisition , how many different nations involved here will this be end of it ?Unlike bernie i do try to catch falling knifes so put a buy limit in that failed @ 10p.Bernies 11.4p not far enough from my last top .

Boring Bernie 05 May 2017

Re: How does this work? MeanbuggerAye, the timing is odd, especially after what's been said in a previous RNS about Germany.I broke one of my golden rules on not trying to catch a falling knife and added to my holding today at a tad under 11.4p. I must admit it felt a bit like chucking money on a horse I'd never heard of in the 14:15 at Cartmel though !

Re: How does this work? Yet another kick in the teeth for Sepura shareholders with the Germans now reviewing the bid on national security and public interest grounds. Will this bid ever cross the finishing line?

Re: 11.75p! Topped up @ 12p

Meanbugger 11 Apr 2017

Re: How does this work? As expected the CMA has been asked to see if there are grounds for a further review on public interest considerations. The positive news is this review of whether or not to have a full review will take just over 3 weeks with the Secretary of State making the final decision. It seems that certain security advisers are briefing that Sepura's products are critical to national safety and emergency infrastructure and cannot be allowed to fall under Chinese control. Poor Sepura shareholders may end up losing everything on national security grounds. This remains highly risky now that the politicians will end up deciding whether or not the bid should proceed.

Re: How does this work? It never rains but it pours. Just as downtrodden Sepura shareholders had a glint of light at the end of the tunnel with the positive news regarding the German competition authority, the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has stuck its oar in at the last minute. The prospect of high value jobs being lost in Cambridge after a Chinese takeover at what used to be called Pye - a pioneer in British technology, not to mention any national security issues means this takeover has suddenly got very political. It wouldn't surprise me if the final decision on whether to review the takeover will go to the PM on national interest grounds. The shares could fall to under 10p on this news.
