Mid-cap miner plan in the making here. I have been invested here for 3yrs+ and followed SAV as it has made aquisitions to add to its portfolio of mining interests. Having researched David Archer's history of building companies into sizeable investments with shareholders interests aligned, together with having spoken to him at several investors events, I am confident of holding a sizeable investment for longer term in ISA + SIPP. The latest aquisition shows forward planning and a serious approach to growing this company into a mid-tier miner.

"Rio Tinto and Savannah Resources have agreed to extend the long stop date for fulfilment of the conditions precedent of the joint venture from 30/06/16 to 30/09/16, or a later date as may be agreed by the parties. The continued delay in approval for the Mutamba/Jangamo joint venture from the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of the Republic of Mozambique is frustrating but it is positive that Savannah Resources that joint venture partner, Rio Tinto, remains committed. In the interim Savannah has maintained its focus and continued to advance its copper projects, located in Oman, toward production and also acquired new lithium exploration projects in Finland." Northland note out this morning on research tree

"It is positive that there were no protracted delays in the issuance of these permits and Savannah Resources will now commence initial exploration work the Somero and Erajarvi projects. To date both of the projects have been shown to contain lithium bearing minerals but no geochemical sampling has been completed to give an idea of grades." "Savannah now has permits covering two highly perspective lithium projects within a mining friendly jurisdiction. While still an early exploration play we are encouraged with the potential for lithium mineralisation in the area based on the geological mapping complied by the Finnish Geological Survey (GTK). Given that the global lithium demand is expected to double by 2025 on the back of the burgeoning battery market, Savannah is looking to capitalise on the lithium market and diversify its portfolio. We look forward to further updates regarding the exploration programme in Finland as well as continued developments on the copper-gold deposits in Oman and the heavy mineral sands in Mozambique." SP Angel's note out this morning on Research Tree: "Savannah Resources’ interest in lithium is topical at present and starting from solid base line work by the Finnish Government geological teams should enable them to assess the prospectivity and identify drill targets relatively rapidly. We note that although at first the Finnish work will probably not put undue strain on the company’s management and financial resources, it adds activity on a third continent to the projects in Oman and Mozambique and could ultimately be an organisational challenge to a small exploration company."

Northland also published a note this morning: "Savannah Resources has joined the increasing number of companies moving into the lithium space with the acquisition of two early stage hard rock lithium projects, located in Finland. Both of the projects have been shown to contain lithium bearing minerals but to date no geochemical sampling has been completed, giving Savannah the opportunity to initially advance the projects at a low cost. The rise in the lithium price from US$8/kg to over US$25/kg in the past 12 months has been driven by supply shortages and has led to significant interest in the space." From Research Tree

"Savannah Resources has announced the completion of 3 gravity surveys within its Block 4 and Block 5 licence areas in Oman. The results of the survey are expected in June and are likely to further refine the definition of drill targets within areas already defined by electro-magnetic surveys and limited drilling. Meanwhile, the previously announced drilling programme at the Maquail South and Mahab 4 prospects in Block 5 and the Dog’s Bone prospect in Block 4 “is continuing as planned”. We look forward to the results of the gravity programme and further news from the drilling in due course...." SP Angel's note from this morning...

Read Beaufort Securities's note on Savannah Resources, out this morning, by visiting Research Tree: "We look forward to results from the gravity surveys, expected in June, to further refine potential targets from the three survey areas. Ground based gravity surveys have a successful track record in identifying VMS-type discoveries. We also look forward to results from the current drill programme with the aim to increase the overall resources and resource classification from the current Inferred and Indicated resource estimate of 1.7Mt grading 2.2% Cu. In the meantime..."
