Re: Long term holder. Ripely Wey-hey - less than 50% down now!! Originally bought in at 145p, then doubled down at c.7p. I am a total tool at this game, but do think gold has a long term future.PS. TW is a lot more right than wrong though!

Thought This my view. Gold is going up and Petropavlovsk share price has followed. However, the appointment of the right CEO and a statement on the new strategy for the business is needed for the share price to gain real momentum. The only problem with this company is that its reputation is tarnished due to historical issues. However, it has some good assets and is generating significant amounts of gold. Its net asset value is around 12p a share so is trading at a massive discount. I think Petropavlovsk will come good, it is just a matter of time.

Re: Pavel bites the dust You are correct Boomball. The shares have been transferred from one part of Renova to another. The information in Box 9 of the latest RNS details this:"On 18 August 2017, Renova Asset Holding Ltd. transferred all of the shares set out in box 8A above to Renova Assets Ltd."I am afraid that Renova are going nowhere, and why would they now that they are in the driving seat?

boomball 23 Aug 2017

Re: Pavel bites the dust I think the share sale and purchase was Renova transferring the shares from one entity to another. Do other shareholders see it that way?

Re: Pavel bites the dust Well, I see Ronova have nearly sod out and run off, having finished off the POG chiefs recently and voted them out... if I read the latest RNS correctly where they`ve sold down their 14% stakeI wonder who the buyers were/are.What is the next step in this plot... surely Ronova didn't buy into POG just to rid them of two top dog directors..

Re: Pavel bites the dust Lets hope the board can take the steps needed to bring POG back to firmer ground. A new CEO looks interesting, and with talk of a tie up with Highland Gold, it might just be the move to start the drive to better days. With Highland currently on good financial situation, they could just provide the financial backbone that POG needs to clear down its awful debts. Maybe a good CEO might emerge from that base. Certainly the share price looks healthy on good production figures of late.I`m assuming that there is a reasonable geographical fit to the businesses, and the new processing plant can serve both groups more effectively.Could be interesting times ahead, ... just hope the time scales are not too far away.No doubt those wealthy oligarks will be looking to drive some hard bargains..

Re: Pavel bites the dust Weblogic,The board is pretty much sorted out. It is the same as they announced following the AGM, with the exception of Pavel. An interim CEO has been appointed while they search for an external candidate to replace him.As regards the huge chunk of new shares issued last year, I assume that you are referring to the Rights Issue that occurred in March 2015. 157 new shares were issued for every 10 existing. This increased the number of shares in issue and consequently diluted the share value, by nearly 16 times. There is no way back for Hambro. Renova, M&G and Sothic made it plain well before the AGM that they intended to vote him off the board. Then at the last minute DE Shaw announced that they too would vote against Hambro and the three non exec directors. The II's had their way and Hambro and the three non execs were kicked out.

Re: Pavel bites the dust Points noted Kenj2... Indeed Hambro is gone..Lets hope the new board can show some vision to dig POG out of that pit.I guess M&G have also had their say, so hopefully when the dust settles they will have a credible team at the helm..I`m also guessing that the value of the shares would be about one third higher if it wasn't for the issue of a huge chunk of new stock last year. If they could take steps to close that gap it would be good. Far too many shares now in issue so maybe a move to reduce the number by a factor of say 100, bringing a price adjustment of 100 times current value might be worth while. too if the tie up with Highland Gold would add real value to POG. The share price of Highland Gold has certainly boomed of late.Now2 that the p[rice of steel/iron ore has risen, maybe some value can be extracted from POGs stake.I agree with you about Hambro, and it would be good if a role could be created for him. He`s got caught out in the gold boom and bust cycle...but so have other goldies.
