Re: RNS - JT "Note: BNY Melon seem to be selling off some or all of their holding - reduced twice very recently." This is what I posted a couple of weeks ago - now 3 sales - going to be a headwind for the sp if they continue unwinding their position - not in so far. Still watching. GLA

Re: RNS - JT shares held before transaction - 8,000,000shares held after transaction - 7,500,000ergo they REDUCED their holding by SELLING 500,000 on the 25th Aprilthat transaction was notifiable because they crossed the 15% threshold...however...with next notifiable threshold being 10%...in essence they can now sell a few more million without uttering a cheap... personally...I wouldn't listen to all the 'ubers'...

Re: Today's rns buy - appears 4m went through yesterday hence rise. Nice to see a big investor involved

jaytee41 27 Apr 2017

Today's rns Does today's rns mean that they have acquired shares or sold them ?

jaytee41 25 Apr 2017

Re: Early days Thanks for posting that. It's nice to get a different perspective on things, especially one that has a slightly more sobering view. Your take on the environment where the company is operating is a valid one, and hasn't really been mentioned yet. Looking at the company site they seen to have "a Local Management Team" familiar with the area, the plays and that speak French. I agree it does not look like the CEO and the CFO are permanently based there. I'm invested too and am hoping for the best, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. J.

Early days Already invested in this small affair and hoping for the best. I note comments of +300% in one year - yeah I hope too, but - operational aspects aside - people need be aware of the significant risks in operating in Congo Brazzaville. Lived and worked in Congo Kinshasa (all one 1 km away by boat) for over 3 years and have a reasonable view of the regional environment - very difficult. The 2 Congos are littered with small extraction coys that came in on high hopes, and simply disappeared. And this one is very small. A few general issues I am wary of: 1. As the name implies, the coy is very much Anglophone, but working in a country that is 100% Francophone. I hope all the big-shots are 100% fluent in French;2. I hope they have high-level local contacts. Things could get awkward without them; 3. Alex McDonald talks of 'traveling down to Congo.' Our experience was that CEOs and CFOs who did not actually live locally had little idea of what was going on a local level - especially if they are not fluent in the language spoken. The guy looks 60+ and I don't see him intent on moving there permanently at this stage of his life. If he is to have little idea of local issues, then who will have? Anyway am still positive, but well aware of the risks. I'm not betting the house just yet.

Re: Tuck these away Early. 6th April where did that rg come from?GLA

DanDaDan 05 Apr 2017

Tuck these away Early. Put them in a tax free wrapper.6rg April tomorrow...(Check the UK Tax date in your diary.)..In 12 months time you will probably be sitting on a 200% to 300% profit or bigger, IMO.Remember Management are only paid on production targets. The big II guns are already invested and have done their research.Follow the money... It is low risk, IMO.GLA

Re: big ish hit today Confidence test. Just look at the low volumes.IMO position taken, it is time to just sit and wait.GLA

Re: Dan This with SAVP could be the finds of 2017. But still doing more research K.Multi-bag potential is fantastic. But as always DYOR.The herd has not arrived here yet.Check out Zengas, he has already made his move and is very knowledgeable.///////'March 2017 the company emerged triumphantly after a very successful and oversubscribed placing on AIM to raise £10m to fund its acquisition of a 56% stake in the Tilapia oil field in the Republic of the Congo.AAOG’s strategy is to workover the existing wells in the Tilapia field at a cost of US$300,000 in order to increase production up to 250bbl/d and to then drill two new wells at a cost of US$6m in the Mengo and Djeno sands in order to prove up reserves and confirm production potential, which has been prolific in other parts of the Congo.' ///////GLA

KALAN 29 Mar 2017

Dan Questions: Do you have a time scale for the work overs? Do you know if the company has the cash to pay for the work overs? Do they need to drill new wells to get to the deeper oil bearing sands and if so do they have the money for this?Note: BNY Melon seem to be selling off some or all of their holding - reduced twice very recently. The story looks great but do the details give cause for concern?
