Re: Edison Research- Visa JV launches in... Good post TNP,I agree entirely with the points you make, 30% may be a bit ambitious, but it will come in time.MONI really are reaping the benefits of having their own platform, as I see it, this is allowing them to operate in multiple countries and get up and running quickly. Whilst there has been a lot of talk recently about how the mobile money market is fragmented, and this is true to a respect. MONI are able to push ahead and win business in developing countries, India, Indonesia, Nigeria and China coming later this year are all great countries to operate in. I think we also overlook the fact that infrastructure in these countries is relatively weak, so MONI is providing more than just a money transfer network, they are facilitating banking and trade, which was once not available for these people.Whilst the fight for developed market share is getting grittier it is great to see MONI making rapid progress in developing markets, it truly is a global business and extremely scalable.Just look at this for the potential... Re: Edison Research- Visa JV launches in... Been Offline today so missed the RNS and the ability to chip in to todays debate and Roundish though I respect you as a valued poster on here I think you are grossly underestimating the potential of todays RNS.The Edison research note speaks volumes for itself here and in particular the last lines."Todays announcement highlights Monitises m-commerce functionality and takes the company a step closer to generating substantial user-generated revenues."It is the second largest private bank in India but my understandng of India is that it is a completely different structured society to that of the UK and still operates a caste / class system where it is extremely hard to move between effectively the class of society that you are born into and any other. The "private" nature of the bank therefore lets Monitise imo access as the article states 21 Million of the more affluent individual customers in the country who use "private banking".Secondly you need to look back to the IMS statement on 13/2/12 which is literally just over one week ago and heres what it said on Monitise India."Monitise India Development work has continued on our mobile payments service in India, through our 50/50 joint venture with Visa Inc. The joint venture will operate as a trusted partner to banks and mobile network operators, to provide a mass market mobile payments service initially for airtime, utility bills and tickets. Further announcements regarding the first partner banks are expected in coming weeks"It quite clearly states that further announcements regarding the first partner "BANKS - DEFINITELY PLURAL) are expected in coming weeks and today is number 1 announcement and just one week post the IMS. Conclusion - MORE ARE COMING is what this is SHOUTING out. Furthermore - today - delivery of this more promised good news and in superquick time by the Board. If we get 30% uptake + of these private clients in this one bank in 2012 then in my book that will just about double + our existing registered users and don't forget this is only 1 bank in India with more announcements coming imminently. The second largest nature is also important for the publicity and exposure this will generate.Having only genned up on the Interims and associated newspaper articles last week there were circa 10 North American banks rumoured to be trialling Moni's products off the Visa DPS / Monitise launch there and there is huge further momentum and news still further to come here for Monitise over and above India and North America: Don't forget:- a Hong Kong launch mid 2012, - valuable collaborations underway in Indonesia - which incidentally is the World's 4th largest country by population and one of the fastest growing countries globally.- and a tie- up with the Central Bank of Nigeria in Africa. (Africas largest populated country)Please read the Interims of 13/2/12 again in the newstab above and note the paragraph headlines and verbals and jargon used of "Step changes", "Accelerating demand", "Record order books", "Raised Guidance" "Powerful partnerships", "Worldwide reach broadened" and "Global leader"All need to wake up to the bond with Visa and the vast potential that the relationship holds in terms of existing global contacts and also the mention of the association with Standard Chartered for the Far East in the Edison investment note. Todays news imo is worth far far more than a 0.25p fall in the Moni shareprice. Imvho + dyor.takenoprisoners takenoprisoners |

Re: Edison Research- Visa JV launches in Ind... The research note makes it clear that the initial launch is to a select group of customers before launching a wider service to all customers later in 2012. Solid approach. Make sure it works as it was intended and then bring everyone in.Although this is India's second largest "private" bank, it is still quite a small bank by Indian standards but should help drive further sales into other competitor banks.Solid progress. Re: Transforming Mobile Payments Services in... India drowns in bureaucracy and queues. In the UK the Indians I know are progressive and well represented in IT. In fact they maintain my computer. I would imagine in India they will take to this like the proverbial ducks. In certain areas India is third world but is after all a BRIC country. Good news yet to be digested by the market IMO. romaron |
