Twice size of Las Calandrias So the two resources together could potentially yield 1.5M ounces of gold (never mind the silver) thus making the project commercial and so be on the radar of a mining major I think that's Glens plan , creating shareholder value

marl LONDON (Alliance News) - Mariana Resources Ltd Wednesday said it has outlined a number of drill targets prospective for bulk-tonnage gold and high-grade gold and silver ore, partly based on new trenching results at its Los Cisnes project in Argentina. The AIM-quoted exploration and development company, which is focused on Peru and southern Argentina, said the new drill targets were identified using strong exploration findings and positive trenching results at the site. The company said rock chip sampling of the site shows widespread gold and silver anomalies, with 71 out of 200 samples strongly anomalous for gold, including 27 samples above 0.5 grams per tonne of gold. Mariana previously reported that channel sampling at its El Brio target at the site showed high grade silver potential with 8 samples ranging from 31 grams per tonne of silver to 716 grams per tonne of silver. The company added that trenching, carried out over 39 areas to compliment rock-chip sampling, found 12 exposed bedrock regions with strongly anomalous gold, silver and arsenic. Results included a 1 metre space at 217 grams per tonne of gold and a 3 metre space at 0.6 grams per tonne of gold. Mariana said that mapping of the Los Cisnes site has now identified multiple phyolite domes with two sectors of dome-hosted mineralised breccias and disseminated sulphides. Ground magnetics tests have shown a much larger dome complex than the company initially mapped with major extensions. The company said it expects the resource system to be twice as large as its Las Calandrias resource of 519,000 ounces of gold equivalent, also in Argentina. The company said the exploration programme has shown a northeast trending large dome corridor at its El Solar and Solar East targets, which are now ranked as high-priority targets for its upcoming scout drilling programme planned for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Mariana said the El Brio high-grade vein breccia trend is also a priority drilling target. The news comes after Mariana optioned new strategic tenements linked to its Los Cisnes project in May, entering a binding letter of intent to acquire a 60% interest in Tierra Exploration SA's three properties, which cover an area of 14,900 hectares. The deal will be done by way of an earn-in option based on the company paying direct exploration costs of USD1 million over four years and making USD2 million worth of share payments to Tierra. The company said at the time that it made the decision to acquire nearby licences after test results and mapping from its gold and silver exploration at the Los Cisnes site showed that strong mineralised trends appear to extend beyond the boundaries of the site.

Amazing RNS Personally I thought it was a cracker of an RNS, for those that are buying in now well done, I have no spare cash and just hoping the SP rises to reduce my losses.

RE: even stevens Oh there is still time for it to end up in the red! This share seems to fall on progress and rise on seemingly nothing. I say seemingly nothing. We had a 5% rise yesterday then low and behold an RNS the following day. Hmmmmn.

RE: Argentina drilling ...agreed. Actually we have 5 projects on the go...Los Cisnes, Las Calandrias and Sierra Blanca in Argentina and Condor De Oro and Soledad in Peru. Argentina is increasing its profile and with the improved political conditions, and goverment attraction to inward foreign investment, this can only bode well for the future.Positive announcement today and good for medium/long term investors. I accept the comments from the 'half empty brigade' but if/when commercial resources are proven this SP will be a distant memory so, IMHO, a great entry point NB AngloGold Ashanto bought in at 12p and recent insitutional placement at 4.5p!! We are not an 'eggs in one basket' Company (eg an oiler who has one drill site that could turn into a 'duster') as we have 5 assets...yes 5!! We have a great MO as a Company and will have a number of alternatives if we need to raise finance next year. Yes we havn't 'hit' commercial grades yet, and we are awaiting the imminent assays on the 3 drill sites at Condor, but excitement is building. IMHO, I think that MM's will have to buy shares to meet buy orders over the next few days and expect volume to increase. As always DYOR and good luck to all genuine investors.

RE: Argentina drilling Need to do more research on this but the sale of the adjacent Don Nicolas mine for US$11.5m gives a guide as to how much the Las Calandrias project could be worth. Obviously we need to compare the size, volume and grades of the resources between the two projects, but it does provide a glimpse into the future. Not sure of the exploration costs to prove Las Calandrias, but we already have a rebate of $600k towards it. If we also mix it in with the talks going on today, I would think like kmyb suggests we shoud see an increase in the sp. ATB

RE: Why does it show as sell? I say this to everyone... when you buy more shares or top up, set a limit sell on your account and then the MM's cannot use your shares to trade with. This way, if everyone did this, we would have a much more realistic figure as opposed to the ridiculous mind games that currently demolish our real standings

RE: Why does it show as sell? Hi S6 basically because you bought below the actual share price at the time. Dont worry tho the mm always do this. If you look over the trades today there are many more like yours. Lots of the sells are actually buys. GL

RE: Argentina drilling Argentina are having further talks today with the USA re. their debt positions. If the talks are successful then I would expect a positive uplift in the SP. Add to that the awaited progress of the "core hunting" at Condor de Oro and the further exploration of Soledad, and we have 3 major projects giving a constant news flow! :- ) Can't wait! GLA
