cw13 I read your post and I cannot help myself to add a comment: Sometimes our imagination creates answers for questions that we dont know how to answer. Are you seriously suggesting PB would be ignorant and give up a porition of its share in nimrod, because it has enough on its plate. Its all about growth irrespective where it may be. And you think PB could care less about BP finanical situation ? so you think they are generous to give a large share of their equity to BP so BP can recoup their losses from the spill? We dont live in that kind of world mate ... as much as our imagination wants to create perfection we have realise that we live in a harsh world thats dictated by money & greed. |

Re: Cheshire10bagger et al 10p with 32.5p cash you need to work on your calcs Cheshire. Its hard to say what we will be pre spud but on a duster we still have 2-3 drills to look forward to so would see us dropping to around 50p. Considering we are 72p now and on a strike of 1.2 billion barrels net to chariot putting us at £15+ the risk/reward is just riduculous no matter what happens to Greece. Now is the time to buy as many as possible. aquos |

Re: Cheshire10bagger et al We all need to take a major reality pill, and that includes you divmad. Duster on nimrod and this is 10p. I hope, Nimrod is a multi bn barrel hit but you are in la la land if you think we're going above £1.20 before the nimrod result. cheshire10bagger |

Re: Cheshire10bagger et al Jove :-Evening mate. Many thanks for your thoughts on the derisking conundrum. I'm just thinking that if it's anything like TS we'll get zero lift going in to the drill & also we've got the Euro problem that's dragging on all stocks regardless now. Recovering anything like a decent percentage of the loss so far may just be beyond us without a strike on Nimrod. .....Hopefully, the Greek situation will be sorted one way or another well before the derisk window and if that is the case I'll certainly join you.Yes, let's hope PW has recovered his composure for the AGM & has a rabbit to pull out of the hat. Best wishes, WB. Warren_bluffit |

Re: Cheshire10bagger et al Obviously, not gone to plan so far, but it it's all or nothing for me personally now with Nimrod--------------------------Hi Warren, Im super bullish on the long term prospects of chariot but I think it would be wise to derisk before the result. If Nimrod is a disappointment we could all be in a world of pain.I want Chariot to succeed as much as the next man as I am neck deep here but I will definately be derisking 15/20 days into the drill - not going to repeat the same mistake.I admit I coulkd miss out on some of the rise but at this stage of the game i really dont want to loose like with tapir. Fingers crossed for a good day Monday after the AGM. jove1776 |

Re: Cheshire10bagger et al Divmad :-A great post. We all need a bit of a lift after the losses of last week. I made up my mind a long time ago that I'd look to derisk before the Tapir TD. Obviously, not gone to plan so far, but it it's all or nothing for me personally now with Nimrod....If I think I'm under pressure, how must PW feel just now, so close to the AGM? He should console himself with a job well done so far. I think the theory he went to Brazil as a last ditch attempt to see a farm in for Tapir holds some credence. Well he tried and if we'd hit with a 100% he'd be hailed as a genius now. As it is he and CHAR have got something to prove now. I think they will. Warren_bluffit |

pb-bp petrobras selling the rights to1 billion barrel of oil approximately is not that big when you have resources of multi billions already and bp need new regions to develope to make up for the billions of dollars they will have to pay for the gulf oil spill |

Re: Cheshire10bagger et al great post Divmadand i agree that a bit of distance and sun provides lots of perspective(it doesn't look so bad from the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea!)I just wish I had more funds around. . having thought earlier i'd called the bottom and invested too muchthe damage isn't so bad. . . but at these prices the temptation is to dig too deep to find a bit more!GLA and have a good weekend. . . stayhungry! |

Re: Cheshire10bagger et al Excellent post Divmad , I've been here a long time and your right there is a long way to go after one duster , Nimrod has third party verification all important after TS , certainly should help PW sleep well through this coming drill . if there is one thing that rankles slightly it was going it alone on TS .gla .Olaf . Cheshire10bagger et al Dear Cheshire10bagger,Whilst I fully sympathise with your belated decision to de-risk by selling a large chunk of your position after the bombshell of Monday, I think you (and shareholders of millions of shares more) reacted to the emotion of the moment. Here's why I think that:1. One duster does not make char a failed company or have a failed strategy. I recall reading you write several posts on here in the last month to the effect that you would "jump off the cliff"...if PW asked you to, such was your faith in his leadership and asset potential of the char acreage. So why ditch him after just one drill in a peripheral area to the main game for char?2. History is replete with examples of junior oil cos that experience a duster (yes, s..hit happens) but learn from the experience and with the benefit of hindsight the panic sellers on the news set the low for a significant period of time. I am no expert in oil and gas, but I see this possibility here.3. I have many many years of fund management experience sadly behind me now. But what i did learn along the way was that you force yourself to buy in the "eye of the hurricane", or "when there's blood on the street", whichever is your preferred analogy. Logically therefore, seeing the extent of the selling pressure after Monday's RNS, a long term investor with BELIEF in PW should be adding to his position this week, not dumping.4. With regards to Greece and the euro, I just want to say that this week I happen to be holidaying in the beautiful island of Santorini. That gives me a welcome ability to stand back from clicking every few minutes on my portfolio value, and see the wood for the trees. And in my neck of the wood, I reckon the ECB highest level politicians, especially the germans, will come to realise that to keep the euro dream alive, and avoid financial armageddon, the ECB will move towards money printing via a sort of QE, directed at Euro sovereign debts. Furthermore, the Greek population, having registered their mass protest vote last week, will have four weeks to come to their collective senses and change their voting patterns to move back to a centrist coalition scenario that will ratify the fiscal accord with the EU.5. This series of events, with a known unknown (the June 17th Greek general election and possibility of immediate demotion from the Euro) reminds an old financial market soldier like me of the financial market evolution going into the first US invasion of Iraq after Saddam had invaded Kuwait. Markets around the globe had panic sell-offs right up to the day before the Allied bombings took place. They rallied strong and long afterwards, much to the surprise of the bearish majority.I am NOT saying that world markets can take off in the same way this time, because the secular upswing or Kondratieff wave is now pointing downwards rather than upwards as it was in the 1980s and 1990s. But I can see one-sided bearish extreme sentiment when I see it. The next three weeks will possibly increase the bearishness to a cacophony of flight capital, but it will also present some exceptional buying opportunities for the strong hearted.I bought 45k char this week, ending with my final purchase of 15k at 16.15 yesterday. I expect to make serious money on these buys by the time Xmas comes along. Now it's time I went back into town to have my moussaka, baklava and ouzo.Good luck all!Divmad Divmad |

Re: Greece...sums it up Well the price of Brent crude oil is slipping which is not helping I guess. I happened to look at most of the majors and even out there you can see big drops also.:Since March:BP -23%Anadarko -27%Conocco philips -33%Shell -11%BG Group - 19%Chevon -10%Brent Crude -15%Downward trend everywhere. A real bear market at the moment. I am doing nothing right now, not buying or selling untill i hear:1. the rig is spud or signed2. the technicals on the chart start to point up and threre is a reversal in action. jove1776 |

Pb to Bp I agree barren , many have asked that question here and on iii , perhaps Pb were derisking there portfolio into Ts . Perhaps they know something about nimrod we don't. I don,t think we will ever know. I hope we find more oil than you can throw a stick at. I hope alot of things. But we are in the hands of the gods. So off to church tomoz to prey .see You there . |

The single most...... .......... intriguing question for me is still that relinquishing of a greater share of Nimrod in March by PB to BP.........what exactly went on there? Could it be something of a clue? Perhaps PW would care to speculate at the AGM? |

Grahamcs / Sorry your right , just trying to get my head round what just happened , i have just one more question, why did PW go to brazil ? . For an update on nimrod , they could do that by e-mail , no he took the TS data and wanted a farm in, but they were not going to buy into it at his price. This has left me in a bad place but with every extra share i feel better. No more introspection now all poss from me . So come AGM lets get some good news. Ps Pw i can forgive you. |
